The annual Tomball Honky Tonk Music Festival has been cancelled due to days of flooding rain and forecasts of severe weather throughout the weekend. This event will not be rescheduled in 2016.

The City of Tomball and presenting partner Allied Siding & Windows are taking the City’s 2016 Independence Day celebration back to the streets on Monday, July 4th.
A portion of Business Highway 249 just north of FM 2920 is again shutting down for a Texas sized July 4th street festival complete with live music, the KROGER Kids Zone, eats, and the City’s famous fireworks extravaganza at dark.
Performing on the K-STAR 99.7 FM stage are classic rock band “The Bottle Rockers” and Cajun favorites “Bayou Roux”, along with a musical salute to the good old USA from Gospel Music Association Dove Awards winners Robert Welch and Paul Staggs, Branson, Missouri’s own Melonie Brown, and local favorite Valerie Hill. Kid’s games and water activities will fill the KROGER Kids Zone beginning at 5:00 p.m. Food and beverages, festival-style treats and more will be provided by The Original Rib Tickler, Pecos Grill, Kona Ice and others throughout the evening.

Beetles, Brew & Barbecue (formerly "Bugs, Brew & Barbecue) is Tomball's own version of a Texas style Oktoberfest with more than 150 Volkswagen "beetles", Texas craft brew, and lots of barbecue and other festival foods. To celebrate the Humble Oil Company gusher that started it all back in 1933, the Oil Town USA Jamboree is an afternoon of state fair fun, food, music and more at the downtown depot. From a pie eating contest and iron skillet tossing, to live tunes, antique cars and historical memorabilia, this festival is fun like it used to be. Admission and parking are free. Gates open at noon.

The Freight Train Food Truck Festival is 24 of the Houston area’s top rolling gourmet kitchens covering two city blocks around Tomball’s historic 1907 downtown Depot. There’ll be cuisines for every taste along with live music from Walter Suhr & Mango Punch, and Troy Hess & the Texas Heartbreakers.

Scheduled to perform are David Davis & the Warrior River Boys, The Coleman Brothers, and Vintage Sounds. Festival foods, vendors, a kids zone will surround the historic 1907 depot.
The popular “Shade Tree Jam” at Granny’s Korner is where you can get into the act. Musicians are invited to bring an instrument and join in with other front porch performers for a rollicking afternoon of pickin’ and grinnin’ away from the big stage. Gates open at 11, music begins at noon. Free admission and parking.
