TPD's National Police Week Ceremony
Tuesday, May 17, 2022
You are cordially invited to Tomball Police Department’s National Police Week Ceremony, “Honor the Standing and the Fallen.” The Ceremony begins at 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Tomball Community Center (221 Market St., Tomball, TX 77375). A reception will be held immediately afterward, with light refreshments, food from Every-Bellies, and cake from HEB.
National Police Week was established in 1962 after President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Following his proclamation, a joint resolution of Congress was passed in 1962, to make National Police Week an annual observance. National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
