Chris Burns is the Patrol Lieutenant at the Tomball Police Department. He began his career in 2010 and has worked with the Tomball Police Department since then. Throughout his career, Burns worked as a patrol officer and school resource officer before promoting to Sergeant in 2017. As a sergeant, Burns oversaw patrol shifts and transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division as the Detective Sergeant from 2018 – 2022.
He spent 6 months as the Professional Services Sergeant before promoting to Lieutenant in 2022 where he has been the Patrol Lieutenant since. Burns holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. He also holds a Master Peace Officer Certification, TCOLE Instructor Certification, Firearms Instructor Certification, School Resource Officer Certification, and ALERRT Instructor Certification.
