Compliance Dismissal Offenses

IMPORTANT: CAREFULLY READ THE PAGES FOR "I GOT A CITATION! WHAT DO I DO?" AND "RESOLVING YOUR CITATION"

There are some violations that may be dismissed at the window if all criteria are met. You will need to bring all proof when appearing at the window for the possible dismissal. Payment is due when written proof of compliance is received.

Expired Motor Vehicle Registration

You may have this dismissed at the window if the registration was corrected within 20 working days of the citation date or by the initial appearance date, whichever is later, and you paid a late registration fee to the County Tax Assessor-Collectors shown on your receipt. You will still owe a compliance fee to the Court. The compliance fee is $20.00. **IMPORTANT: If you did not pay a late registration fee to the county, your registration receipt does not reflect that the late registration penalty fee as paid you will not be able to dismiss this violation. If more than 60 days have passed since the expiration of the registration you may not qualify for the compliance dismissal.

Expired Driver's License

You may present proof of your current valid driver's license renewal to the Court Clerk on or before the answer date listed on your citation or within 20 days after the date of your citation, whichever is later. The compliance fee is $20.00.

Failure to Change Address or Name on Driver's License

You may present proof of address or name correction to the Court Clerk on or before the answer date listed on your citation or within 20 days after the date of your citation, whichever is later. The compliance fee is $20.00.

Failure to  Maintain Financial Responsibility ( No Insurance)

If you received a citation for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, this violation may be dismissed at the court window under the following condition:

  • The vehicle you were operating at the time of the citation must have been insured on the exact date and time the citation was issued. The citation will not be dismissed if you were listed as an excluded driver. The court will contact the insurance provider to verify coverage. All information is subject to confirmation directly from the insurance company.
