Inspections Division
Our highly trained inspection division is dedicated to ensuring our community is safe from fire and other life safety hazards. Our inspection program utilizes locally adopted codes and ordinances that are designed to have a positive impact on businesses. The Codes are published by the International Code Council and the National Fire Protection Association. Local amendments to these codes can be found online by clicking on this link. Chapter 20 begins on Page 197 of the document.
Inspections can vary from business to business so it is imperative that our inspectors are well-versed in these nationally recognized codes. Understanding that every business is different from the next allows us to identify target hazards and address the need for a safe working environment. Working closely with local and state agencies ensures that the proper agency is contacted for support as needed.
Business offices, grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals, daycares, doctor offices, department stores, nursing homes, apartment buildings, schools, foster homes, and places of worship are just a few of the types of occupancies where we perform our inspections.
Operating a successful inspection program allows for a safer place to work, shop and play. The focus of our inspection program is designed with employees, visitors and public safety professionals in mind.
