Boards and Commissions

The City of Tomball City Council relies on input from residents, businesses and organization representatives serving on boards and commissions. 

Recent and ongoing advisory groups for the City of Tomball include the Board of Adjustments, Charter Review Commission, Building Standard Commission, Capital Improvements Advisory Committee, Planning & Zoning Commission, Tomball Economic Development Corporation, Tomball Legacy Fund Inc., and the Tourism Advisory Committee.

According to the City's Code of Ordinances, Tomball may have several kinds of boards and commissions, including: 

  • Advisory boards
  • Decision-making boards 
  • Separate legal entities 
  • Standing committees 
  • Sunset committees 
  • Non-profit corporation boards

Please email the City Secretary's Office or call (281) 290-1002 if you are interested in applying for a City of Tomball board or commission.

 

The City accepts applications year-round. Membership on boards and commissions is open to all Tomball residents. Service is voluntary and without monetary compensation. The City will provide any required training. Applications received will remain on file for two years.

Applicants must complete an application and may provide a resume, if desired. The application forms are available online. Please note there is a separate application for general boards and commissions and the Tourism Advisory Committee. You may also request an application at City Hall (401 Market St.).
