2024 January - March
Please join me in congratulating Officer Tomeko Henagan who the management team has selected as the Tomball Police Department Employee of the First Quarter 2024, January - March. Like many of you, Tomeko had dedicated his life to the safety, well-being, and protection of children in our schools. When TPD’s contract ended with TISD, Tomeko came back to patrol, and he has given the citizens of Tomball the same love, protection, and commitment that he provided as an SRO. A review of Tomeko’s body-worn camera reveals that every stop, whether it’s a warning, a citation, or an arrest, is defined by professionalism and respect. He is a valued member of a GREAT team. Well done, Tomeko.

Please join us in congratulating Evidence Tech Cristal Maldonado-Maldonado, who the management team has selected as the Tomball Police Department Employee of the Second Quarter. Cristal is currently assigned to the Property & Evidence room as an Evidence Tech. Cristal is also a trained and certified Crime Scene Investigator, assistant to the Record’s clerk, and adult advisor over the Tomball Explorer’s Post. Cristal is always happy, courteous, and eager to come to work and work. Cristal has a positive attitude and represents the Police Department and the City of Tomball in a professional manner. Cristal works well with others and always accomplishes her assigned tasks. Cristal is an outstanding employee who continues to perform at the highest level. Cristal is responsible for rewriting some of the standard operating procedures for the Evidence collection and destructions. Cristal is very good at being an evidence tech and crime scene investigator. Cristal is always receiving compliments regarding her work performances and has built a great working relationships within and outside her division among other city employees. Cristal is a value member within the Tomball Police Department.

With over 22 years of dedicated service to the Tomball Police Department, Angela has been an invaluable asset through her work in a variety of roles. Her deep institutional knowledge and unwavering commitment to excellence have made her an essential part of the department’s continued success.
Currently serving as the Program Manager overseeing the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA) Recognition Program, Angela plays a pivotal role in ensuring the department maintains full compliance with the rigorous standards and best practices required for certification. Her attention to detail and proactive approach have been instrumental in upholding the high standards expected of the Tomball Police Department.
Angela’s experience and insight extend far beyond her current role. She frequently supports multiple divisions, offering guidance and assistance that enhances performance, ensures accountability, and fosters continuous improvement across the organization. Her professionalism, positive attitude, and strong sense of responsibility have earned her the respect and trust of both her colleagues and the community.
Known for her willingness to assist whenever and wherever needed, Angela exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated public servant. Her contributions not only benefit the department internally but also help elevate the quality of service delivered to the citizens of Tomball.

Please join me in congratulating Alex Aguilar-Martinez as he has been selected as the Tomball Police Department Employee of the First Quarter, 2025. He leads the Department in narcotics arrests, while supporting our DWI, traffic, and crime initiatives. I appreciate his great effort every day, and just as much, I appreciate his positive attitude. I know I don’t tell you all enough, but I am so proud of the whole team. You continue to drive down crime, keep our community safe, and make the City proud. We have an awesome group of sworn and civilian staff right now, made better by the professionalism, dedication, and hard work of each of you. Again, well done, Alex, and well deserved, my friend.
2025 April - June
Please join me in congratulating Detective Bryce Smith, who was selected as Employee of the Second Quarter. Bryce has been intimately involved in leading a multi-state, multi-jurisdictional human trafficking case. Her leadership in this case has involved overseeing a complex investigation; coordinating with the FBI, CPS, municipal law enforcement agencies, advocacy groups and the district attorney; and, above all else, working diligently to protect a child. Bryce’s bulldog tenacity, her compassion for child victims, and willingness to coordinate with multiple agencies make her an outstanding recipient of Employee of the Second Quarter.
Thank you Bryce for your incredible grit and inspiring work ethic.
