Tomball Ensures Fair Housing, Civil Rights Compliance, and Public Participation under CDBG-DR Program
The City of Tomball has received a Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) contract through the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and reaffirms its compliance with federal Civil Rights, Fair Housing, and non-discrimination laws. Policies are in place for Equal Opportunity, Fair Housing, Section 504, Section 3, Affirmative Action, Excessive Force, and Citizen Participation. Residents are encouraged to know their rights under the Fair Housing Act and may report housing discrimination to the Texas Workforce Commission. The City does not discriminate on the basis of disability in any federally assisted program, with City Manager David Esquivel designated as Section 504 coordinator. Written grievance procedures are available for any complaints regarding GLO CDBG-DR activities, with responses targeted within 15 working days.

The Texas Workforce Commission ("TWC") is the entity responsible for enforcing the Fair Housing Act in the State of Texas. You have one year after an alleged violation to file a complaint, but you should file it as soon as possible. Go to https://www.twc.texas.gov/programs/civil-rights to file a complaint.
