Vendor Permits

The following permits are issued through the City Secretary's office. Each of these must be turned into the City Secretary at 401 Market Street:

Liquor Licensing

Please contact the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) to initiate the process and acquire a pre-qualification packet. The City of Tomball's City Secretary, along with other county and state agencies, must approve this packet.

To obtain the City Secretary's endorsement on a pre-qualification packet, you can use one of the following methods:

1. Visit City Hall at 401 Market St., Tomball, Texas 77375. We recommend calling 24 hours in advance to ensure we can accommodate you.

2. Mail the packet to the City of Tomball, Attn: City Secretary’s Office, 401 Market St., Tomball, Texas 77375. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your application.

Once the TABC process is complete, approved, and you have obtained a permit from the State of Texas, an invoice for the city permit fee will be sent to you. Upon payment, the city permit will be provided.  Before issuing any license under this division, the applicant must pay a fee to the city as specified in the TABC Licenses and Permits maximum local fee schedule. All taxes, permits, and/or license fees imposed by this division must be paid in advance for one year.

Sec. 4-2. - Location restricted for sale.

The sale of alcoholic beverages within 300 feet of any church, public or private school or public hospital, within the corporate limits of the city, is hereby prohibited. Measurement shall be done as required by V.T.C.A., Alcoholic Beverage Code § 109.33.

If your business is located outside the city limits of Tomball, you may contact Harris County.

No person may manufacture, sell, distribute, or store any alcoholic beverage or engage in any other activity related to such that requires a permit under the state Alcoholic Beverage Code within the city without obtaining a license from the city.
