R.A.D.
What is RAD?
The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System is a program focused on realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. This comprehensive course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, progressing to the fundamentals of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a martial arts program; rather, it is designed to equip women with practical self-defense strategies.
The R.A.D. System is committed to teaching women effective and proven self-defense tactics to protect themselves against various types of assault. This program empowers women with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about resistance, emphasizing safety and survival in today’s world. The Tomball Police Department is dedicated to providing women and children with the necessary tools for self-defense. Our certified instructors undergo extensive training to ensure a comprehensive and empowering learning experience for every participant.
Who is RAD for?
The foundation of the R.A.D. System lies in education and awareness. This course includes lectures, discussions, and hands-on self-defense training tailored for women of all ages and abilities. Classes typically range from 9 to 12 hours, depending on the instructor’s curriculum.
Our goal is to provide participants with effective options for self-defense, encouraging them to take an active role in their personal safety and psychological well-being.
Mission Statement
"The mission of the R.A.D. System is to establish an accessible, continually improving, and internationally respected alliance of dedicated instructors. These instructors, in turn, provide educational opportunities for women, children, men, and seniors to create a safer future for themselves. In doing so, we challenge society to evolve into an existence where violence is no longer an acceptable part of daily life."
