The primary goal of the Tomball Police Department Patrol Operations Division is to protect the community and promote public safety through proactive policing strategies to suppress crime and reduce traffic accidents.

The Investigations Division is responsible for the follow-up investigations of most criminal offenses and other support functions of the department. This division is organized into the Investigations Unit, the Information Systems Unit, and Investigative Services Unit (property / evidence) personnel, records, courts, and the Criminal Intelligence function.
