The Jerry Matheson Public Pool also features a splash pad water play area that sprays or jets water on users. It is designed for children of all ages. With no standing water and soft, rounded materials, it offers a safer alternative to pools for little ones. The splash pad includes ground nozzles that spray water upwards and shower-style features triggered by motion sensors, a slide, and dumping buckets ensuring an engaging and enjoyable experience for everyone. This splash pad is only accessible through the pool entrance and features a gate that divides the splash pad from the pool area for safety.
The City of Tomball Public Pool offers swim lessons and a water safety program designed to teach basic life-saving swim skills to elementary school-aged children. This program aims to introduce children to swimming and is NOT a replacement for additional training or practice. This program is open for children ages four (4) to seven (7) years, free of charge with limited class sizes. Classes are taught Tuesday or Thursday as indicated on the schedule. Registration is one week prior to the start of each session on Tuesday. Children who participate must be able to accept instruction due to safety concerns, otherwise they may be asked not to participate.
