Thank you for signing on to the Tomball Police Department home page. My name is Jeffrey Bert, and I am the Chief of Police for the Tomball Police Department. From the moment I moved to Tomball in June of 2020, I have felt a deep sense of community pride reverberating through its residential areas, churches, businesses, and schools. As Chief, I have also discovered that the community’s love for its police employees runs deep. We have enjoyed unblinking, resolute support for the great work of municipal policing. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you and honored to lead the fine women and men of the Tomball Police Department.
Our core values - Professionalism, Integrity and Respect - serve as the basis for every single interaction between the police and public. Whether officers encounter a young child or the eldest senior, someone facing financial hardships or struggling with mental illness, someone traveling through or a lifelong resident, it is my expectation of the men and women of the Tomball Police Department that we will treat each encounter with the level of care that we would wish for ourselves and our loved ones. As dedicated as our team is to community engagement, we also are certain that a benevolent blue presence throughout our city is a key factor in reducing the fear and incidence of crime. For the past several years, with the community’s help, we have successfully reduced victimization through the use of accurate and timely intelligence, effective tactics, rapid deployment, and relentless follow-up. Likewise, our team is dedicated to reducing serious and fatal traffic accidents utilizing education, enforcement, and engineering.
Policing, more than a mere contract between citizens and their municipal government, is a labor of love. The women and men of Tomball Police Department are peacekeepers, peace makers, guardians, and, if necessary, warriors, each with a sacred duty to protect and serve the citizens of Tomball. I am so proud of the members of this organization who everyday don a uniform, gun, and badge, and with a fire in their bellies, dedicated to their job, their community and each other, drive down crime, build trust, and engage a very deserving community. We are at your service.
Jeffrey Bert, Police Chief
